From frustration
to platform
Cyphalet didn't start in a boardroom. It started with a problem every Nigerian abroad has felt firsthand.
Sending money home was broken
Our founders experienced firsthand how difficult, expensive, and slow it was to move money between Nigeria and the rest of the world. Transfer fees ate into savings. Exchange rates were opaque. It took days. There had to be a better way.
Building the platform we wished existed
We assembled a small team of engineers, product designers, and financial experts — all with personal stakes in solving this problem. The brief was clear: build the fastest, most transparent cross-border payment tool available to Nigerians.
Cyphalet goes live with NGN & USD wallets
After months of development and testing, Cyphalet launched at app.cyphalet.xyz with two core wallets: NGN and USD. Users could fund, convert, and send — all in one place, at live rates, with no hidden fees.
Growing with our community
Tens of thousands of Nigerians now use Cyphalet every day to manage their cross-border finances. We're expanding our banking partnerships, improving conversion speeds, and building toward a future where more currencies — and more countries — are supported.
Expanding across West Africa and beyond
GBP, EUR, GHS, and KES wallets are in active development. Our vision extends beyond Nigeria — we're building the financial infrastructure for the entire African continent to transact freely with the world.
